L.O.V.E. It truly isn’t in the big floofy stuff.
It’s in the little moments each day - the hard moments, the “I’m not sure if I can get through this” moments, the “can you see me?” moments, “can you be present and hold me?”, the cheering on moments, the grateful, sacrificial moments, the “I feel alone” moments, the surprised, joyful moments, the “this world is not our home”, and all the small moments in between.
The other day Amelia went on a skiing date with daddy. I stayed back with Clara and tried to make it fun for her while juggling her fussy, congested baby sister. When I realized I couldn’t swing the grandiose plans I set out to do, we settled on stamps and after, cuddles while reading.
Later, in a moment of gratitude, I expressed how special my time was with her. She flashed a sweet smile at me then asked, “what was your favorite part playing with me, mommy?” With a melted heart I replied, “all of it! How about you?” “Me too. The stamps and reading” she said. 😍
Children really just want our time and our big love in the small moments. 💗
