Book Recommendations

Today, reading books does not seem as popular as it used to be with the ease of the internet. However, those who do not read literature miss out on a unique learning experience.

I have found these books to be very helpful on the topics of mental health, emotional intelligence, and child rearing. Each book has been professionally screened and vetted to be considered an appropriate tool for nurturing characters. Feel free to explore the categories and find books that would best fit your family's interests and needs.

Children & Teens

Bibliotherapy is a great tool used to introduce difficult topics, exercise prevention, create self-awareness, encourage empathy, and foster good character traits in children. Remember not every book is perfect nor all-inclusive on the topic presented.  These books can help a child struggling in a certain area but they are not comprehensive and will require a deeper, age appropriate, discussion with your child about the moral of the story and the lesson implied. When explaining these new concepts to your child, remember to highlight your family’s spiritual belief or value system, relating core values to the message of the book.

Parents & Educators

There are so many books out there to read and very little time to read them. Hopefully this list will help direct you to your most concentrated area of interest.

Counseling Professionals

Counselors and therapists would benefit from the many books listed under Parents & Educators. There are some books and workbooks that emphasize theory; focusing more on case conceptualizations and treatment plans. You may find those here.

If you have any recommendations or think your book should be on this list, please contact us. I look forward to hearing from you.
